11. arrivals
"like the back of an immense sea-creature rhythmically slipping above and below the waves. The percussion is manicured yet spritzy, with the baroque cadences of spitting rain. Periodic vocal samples are hung about in hazy washes, making it sound a bit like Burial for English-Lit majors. The structures are crescendo-based, but arrive by such creeping degrees that we're never jarred, only soothed, lulled."
7.6 Pitchfork
“A sumptuous, immersive piece, populated with lonely clicks, earthly organs and stirring synthetic strings. Infrequently a voice appears; disembodied, quietly squalling, it is not quite of our world – much
like worriedaboutsatan, in fact”
Plan B
"Arrivals is one of the most intriguing debut albums of recent times"
Rock Sound
"elements of Godspeed vs Richard D. james here, and it manages that rarity in ambient music of sounding engaging throughout - even on repeated listens it hold you in rather than allowing you to escape
into the real world”
